The String Academy organises additional training for talented young players of cello, violin, and viola. Teaching periods are held in Porvoo.
The String Academy organises high-quality extra training for talented young string players. The String Academy consists of the Cello Academy, the Violin Academy and the Viola Academy.
There are 20 to 30 students at a time in the String Academy, aged between 8 and 20. The teaching periods of the String Academy are held in Porvoo, Finland, in collaboration with the Porvoonseudun musiikkiopisto (Music School of the Porvoo area). Altogether 12 to 16 teaching periods are held each year.
The String Academy organises teaching periods regularly all year around. The purpose of the teaching periods is to strengthen the students’ improvement by significantly enhancing their basic instrument studies.
Students are chosen to the String Academy through evaluation lessons. The String Academy aims to create an inspiring and encouraging learning environment where exceptionally talented young musicians learn both from the teachers and each other.
